Baltic Anthropology Graduate School is a graduate training programme joining five Baltic centres of learning: University of Latvia; Riga Stradiņš University; Vytautas Magnus University; Tallinn University and the University of Tartu. BAGs is open to applicants either studying in or doing research in the Baltic States.
The aim of this study session is to provide a forum for PhD and advanced MA students focusing on the anthropological method to analyse the experience of ethnographic approach, to present their projects, and to get instructive feedback. Additional exchange involves also the hurdles of academic progress and elaborations on applied/public anthropology.
The seminar schedule comprises two days with a morning lecture, a round table discussion, and a workshop. Invited lecturers are Dr Toomas Gross (University of Helsinki, Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology/University of Tartu, Department of Ethnology) and Professor Henrik Vigh (University of Copenhagen, Department of Anthropology). Student projects are discussed in smaller groups.
