• Save the dates for the Writing Retreat!

    12-16 June 2017

    15-19 January 2018

We invite PhD students of the Humanities to the Writing Retreat! GSCSA & GSLPS calls for partner universities’ PhD students and their supervisors to participate in the intensive writing retreat. This is the perfect possibility to focus on writing research article or a part of your dissertation. To enhance your writing process, we will hold different workshops; in addition, you will be able to discuss your writings and get feedback on it from your fellow students in small working groups.

We also support the participation of supervisors; it is possible to conduct supervisors’ seminar within the frames of the writing retreat.

Participation, travel, meals and accommodation costs for both GSCSA & GSLPS PhD students and their supervisors are covered by the organizers.

Expect to receive the registration forms and more information in this mailing list soon.

  • Intensive seminar: researching, reworking and representing Soviet and Socialist LGBT histories

The intensive seminar aims to contribute to and expand the discussion of research and representation of queer history in Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. We invite junior researchers, PhD students and some advanced MA students from the fields of arts, historical studies, queer studies, cultural research and alike to take part in it. The program will combine key note lectures by leading practitioners in the field, seminars with discussions on empirical material, and presentations of the participants.
