GSCSA aims towards the establishing of more integrated and interdisciplinary PhD curricula of culture studies and arts, a more effective collaboration between Estonian universities (incl. joint study modules and courses, mobility of graduate students), greater proportion of foreign competence at the PhD level studies, and a stronger bond between PhD studies and research.
In order to advance the academic level of PhD programmes of culture studies and arts in Estonia, and to integrate institutionally and administratively separated reseachers of culture, the GSCSA will

- organise smaller intensive seminars on a particular topic (e.g. ‘memory’, ‘identity’) 5 times a year, each with an international scope, for 20 doctoral students, lasting for 2-3 days;
- design new study modules and specific PhD-courses (e.g. “Methodologies of culture studies”);
- organise workshops for thesis supervisors in order to improve the quality of supervising;
